College History


SERVITE ARTS & SCIENCE COLLEGE FOR WOMEN 

     A Catholic Minority Institution of Higher Education for women , was founded by the Servite Sisters on 24.07.2010 , with the primary objective of  providing University Education to rural women in a Christian atmosphere for deserving students  irrespective  of caste and creed. 

     It was started functioning with just 60 students on the rolls in five undergraduate courses B.A.English, B.A History, B.Com, B.Sc Mathematics and B.Sc Computer Science.It was affiliated to Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirapalli, Ref.No.016669/D5/2010 . At present the college offers Under Graduate, Post Graduate and M.Phil programmes.

    Besides academics, the college aims at the integral development of students, especially in spiritual, psychological, social and civic vales. The motto of the college is “Awakening Women’s Power”.

                             The initiatives of the College arise from a sound philosophy of life based on faith in God and the contemporary reality of a pluralistic Indian society that is challenged by global ideologies and cultures.

                     The College is committed to serve the economically and socially marginalized rural sections of women society. The college functions with a student-centric, participatory teaching-learning-evaluation system and assures the students of optimal educational benefits. The College is balancing its commitment to academic excellence with emphasis on all-round development of students and facilitates skills training to meet the challenges of a competitive workplace.
