Physics

DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICS

The Department of Physics was established in the year 2011, offering Allied Physics for Science students. Later in the year 2015, B.Sc. Physics as major was started with 15 students. The department provides theoretical as well as experimental knowledge to the women students through innovative teaching methods. The department has well equipped lab for major as well as for ancillary students. Every semester the department arranges “Invited talk” on current physics with experts. Also the department provides opportunity for the students to pour out their creativity and knowledge through presentations on a common forum. The department is in the progress of introducing M.Sc., course to furthermore improve Physics knowledge among rural women students.

VISION

·        Developing the rural girls students for graduate, industrial and other careers, support the other science and introduce non – science students to the methods, power, and beauty of physics.

·        Challenging our students at all levels of physics and develop their skills of independent learning and discovery.

·        Creating curiosity in scientific area among women students which helps them to apply in day today life for the betterment of the society

MISSION

·        To afford Physics knowledge through innovative teaching for both theoretical and practical Physics

·        To execute logical reasoning which leads to science discoveries and inventions

·        To provide more opportunities for enhancing the scientific skills

·        To assist the students to dream creatively and make it to reality as said by Dr.A.J.Abdul Kalam for the betterment of humanity.

·        To provide academic excellence and practical training to students to take up challenging assignments and developments.

Best Practices

Ø Remedial Classes for weak Students

Ø Creating platform to execute students talents via conducting Science exhibitions and Inter-Department  Competitions

Ø Arranging invited talks on current science

Ø Educational visits

Ø Using PPT, Videos etc. for creative teaching

Ø Getting students feedback every semester

Association Activities

Association activities help the students to update the current physics and other areas in day to day life. Experts from in and around will deliver lectures on the topics according to the need of the students. Sharing of knowledge is the key factor for discoveries and inventions which is implemented through the guest lectures. The following are some activities held in the department.
